| If you reach the river and cross the bridge, you would find yourself in a small place that has kept the spirit of Rennaisance to this day – the Kulata Ethnographic Complex. There you can visit the old Saint Elijah Church, the coppersmith or the luthier masters. After you pass the Kulata district you will find yourself at the foot of the Tulbeto Park, which harbours the very symbol of our town – the Kazanlak Thracian Tomb and the priceless frescoes, the work of ancient masters. Near the central market is the mosque and southwest of the main street you can immerse yourself in the calm of the Convent. If you are travelling by car you could take a look at the unique Shipka Monastery, climb all the way up to the top of Mt. Shipka and stop to take in the heroic atmosphere of the Shipka – Buzludzha National Park Museum. Near the town of Shipka you can see the most significant of the newly discovered tombs. If you are on the road here in May you can visit the rose fields, take a walk amid nature, enjoy a refreshing picnic, do some fishing or take a swim in the waters of the Koprinka Dam. You can also take part in the newest attraction of the region –Aqua Park in Ovoshtnik village. If by then you have grown tired, the restaurants will offer you a wide variety of dishes. Movie buffs can visit screenings at Iskra Cinema and there are also many entertainment opportunities available for sports enthusiasts and healthy lifestyle adherents. And if you just want to unwind, you can have a drink at one of the local bars and end the evening in one of the discotheques amidst the joy and laughter of the youth of Kazanlak. |
