The monument was raised in honor of all Bulgarians fallen in the wars. It was built at the heart of the townspeople's favorite Rosarium Park through donations amounting to 200 000 leva, gathered in 1934 by an initiative committee. The monument is 12 m of height with electric lamps on its top. Their light is a stark reminder of the supreme sacrifice made by the men of Kazanlak fallen in the wars. There are 7 panels mounted on the west side and 5 on the east. Nowadays the young people of Kazanlak gather here on the 24th of May to lay flowers and to take photos on their pre-prom gathering. Young married couples come here after their wedding ceremonies to lay flowers as a sign of gratitude. Commemorative celebrations of various occasions are also held in front of the monument. |
