Art Galleries

The art galleries are the favorite places of the people in Kazanlak since this is the meeting place of the art of past and present. Here the contemporary artists find their inspiration and together they create the unique artistic image of the town. The following are the most popular galleries in Kazanlak but the works of the contemporary artists can also be seen and bought in the souvenir shops, most of which are like small private galleries.



Museums

The art galleries keep the works of the most prominent artists in Bulgaria but the museums keep their spirit. In Kazanlak there are five house-museums where documents, works, memories and characters of the artists are kept. The most popular are ”Chudomir” House Museum and “Petko Staynov” House Museum which are filled with the atmosphere of these authors during the festivities organized in their honor.

“Iskra” Municipal Art Gallery
Kazanlak possesses one of the oldest and richest regional art galleries in Bulgaria. The visitors there can get a relatively complete idea of the Bulgarian fine arts from the National Revival to present day.
Information Center Gallery
The gallery became a favorite place for the modern painters because it is very well equipped. Fine art, photo, graphics, and posters exhibitions are organized there, and it is also the center of the Rose Festival activities.
“Ruvel” Art Gallery
The art gallery presents works of modern Bulgarian fine and applied arts. It is an important artistic center in Kazanlak, promoting an active exhibition policy.
 
“Nenko Balkanski” House Exposition
The exposition features a selected works of the works donated by the sister of the painter, exhibited in three rooms of the house.
“Acad. Dechko Uzunov” House Exhibition
The works donated by the wife and nephews of the painter are shown in four rooms and the specialized exposition hall.
”Chudomir” Literary and Art Museum
The exceptionally rich archive of Chudomir’s literary and fine art works is kept in the museum.
“Petko Staynov” House Museum
There is a museum exposition about the life, work and social activities of the great Bulgarian composer, creator of Bulgarian symphonism.
